ASCO Refund Policy

In the event that a client retains ASCO and subsequently decides to terminate the appointment prior to the completion of the case, a refund  of unearned solicitors fee and costs shall be provided. Such refund is however subjected to a minimum  abortive cost payable to ASCO amounting to RM300.00 (“Standard Abortive Cost”).

In determining the amount to be refunded to a client,  ASCO shall consider the time expended by our solicitors  for the initial consultation, reimbursements and disbursements incurred by ASCO in undertaking the scope of work and any subsequent work performed, including, but not limited to document preparation, court appearances, depositions, motion/hearing/trial preparation, research, drafting, advising,  time expended to close the case at client's request, etc. at which shall be billed at the hourly rate and at a rate specified in the Subscription Agreement as defined hereafter or proforma invoice issued by ASCO (whichever is applicable).

Should the current payment paid by the client is lesser than the Standard Abortive Cost, ASCO reserves the right to make such claim to the client  towards the Standard Abortive Cost.

If a payment is made in error or for an incorrect amount, please contact ASCO immediately for refund and/or correction. These requests must be made within 48 hours of payment.

Requests for refunds must be made in written form and mailed to our email  (“Refund Notice”). The Refund Notice shall include client’s  payment details for ASCO easy reference. Refunds of client funds shall be made by online transfer and shall be transferred to the client within 30 days of from the date of Refund Notice.

In the event of any conflict between the provisions of this Refund Policy hereof and the provisions stated in the  fee proposal issued by ASCO (if any) on the work scope offered by ASCO (“Fee Proposal”), the provisions of the Fee Proposal shall govern.

2. Subscription Agreement shall mean the agreement entered between a client and ASCO for a legal subscription service provided by ASCO.
